This one goes to the resume

How cool is this. You can actually put
2006 - Time Magazine Person of the Year as an achievement on your resume.

Sure, as long as you're reading this blog entry, you are qualified - or listening to mp3s, watching YouTube videos, or whatever you choose to do on your time online. (Hey, I'm not here to judge).

A lot of people have criticized Time Magazine's choice. Sure, there might be other personalities who deserve the award. But nobody can deny the impact of the common people in today's world. Blogs have put the common person's opinion some weight, social networking has connected people continents apart, entertainment has become more personalized (because cable TV's 500+ channels isn't enough).

Personally, I am proud to the honored as one of the person's of the year. Sure, I share the award with 6 billion other people, but who am I to complain.

O Holy Night on Studio 60

For those who watched the latest episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, NBC has put the song O Holy Night as perfomed by New Orleans musicians on their website as a free mp3 download. This is a really good and touching version of the classic holiday song.

They showed this on the episode with pictures of New Orleans in the background. It is really sad to see these talented people out of work until now because of Hurricane Katrina. It is weird that the US Government until now is not paying that much attention to rebuilding the city and most of the rebuilding is being done by private or non-governental orgs.

The musicians who played in the episode are really musicians from New Orleans displaced by the hurricane.

Download the song, close your eyes and listen.

Smoke-free for 3 years!

I am proud to say that it has been 3 years since my last cigarette. I can't say that I don't miss it, especially when there is a cup of joe around.

But I sure am glad that I kicked the habit, I just can't imagine having to go out of the house to smoke, as it would be bad for Matmat and the fact that I have to shell out more than five bucks for a pack!

So let's see, at a minimum of a pack every 3 days, thats 121 packs of cigs a year! So theoretically, I have saved $605!!!

Well, well, well... Now I know how I can justify getting a PS3! :)
