It's just sad that people here don't care.

A couple of days have went by since the Sonics were sold and the news that they might not be staying here after next season will surely put the gloom back in the city.

The worst thing is people don't seem to mind.

Sure, I admit I'm not a diehard Sonics fan, but I am an avid fan of basketball. Having a team in the state gives you something to cheer for, something local and something reachable.

But now people in Seattle don't care.

They will probably riot in the streets if the Mariners or the Seahawks were sold, but the Sonics? Who cares. They're expendable.

Are they really?

When we moved here almost a year ago, I was estatic that now whenever we are in the mood to watch a live NBA game, its possible. Just click on ticketmaster.com, print the tickets, drive (a couple of hours) and viola, we are where at the Key cheering amidst 10,000 plus fans as Ray Allen sinks another 3 pointer.

But after next season, winter in Seattle will just be a little gloomier, a little sadder.

At least I got to enjoy a season being a Sonics fan.
