Media Evolving

In a few years time, the term "TV shows" will be a misnomer, a term associated with the older generation.

Why do I say this? It is because of the fact that you can watch these shows in all types of medium - computers, cellphones, media players, etc. TV's have become so last century. Gone are the times that the whole family will wait for the exact hour on the exact day to watch their favorite show. Although I admit, it wouldn't hurt to have a 50" plasma TV in your house.
Major networks have even raised the ante. Now, all their major primetime shows can be watched online - wherever you are in the world, with less commercials than watching on TV!!! NBC, CBS, Fox and ABC have now put up their shows on their respective websites and is available the entire week after it airs.

I mentioned this because this is a huge step in curbing illegal downloading of shows from P2P, especially Bit Torrent. Now that everyone can watch the show online, without having to download a 300Mb file, these media outlets have, at least, minimized downloading of the shows from these sites.

Which brings me to my next question. If they are offering these shows for free, is it still illegal to download them from Bit Torrent? It seems illogical to still deem it illegal because they are offering the shows for free now. Well, we have to wait and see what happens there.
